Seoul Barbecue Festival 2026 takes place on October 24–25 at Nanji Camping Site in Seoul, with free entry and no reservation needed outside the Self BBQ Zone. You can buy cooked barbecue, look for first-come seating and enjoy the stage programs; food, reserved grilling tables and picnic rentals cost extra.
The event combines barbecue food with a camping-style picnic setting, live music, a rest area and a regional market. For a casual meal without arranging a grill, the walk-in Barbecue Village is the simpler choice. Companions who would rather listen to music or browse stalls also have something to do.
Seoul Barbecue Festival hours: arrive before food sales end
The festival runs from noon to 9 p.m. on both October 24 and 25. The venue address is 28 Hangangnanji-ro, Mapo-gu, Seoul (서울 마포구 한강난지로 28). This is a food festival at Nanji Camping Site, rather than an overnight camping reservation.
Barbecue Village's cooked-food sales are listed for noon–7:30 p.m. A late visit needs that earlier cutoff in mind: a 9 p.m. festival closing time does not mean dinner sales continue until then. For a meal followed by time around the grounds, plan around the food hours, not just the final closing time.
Someone reaching the site at 8 p.m. would already be past the published cooked-food selling hours. That makes the visit a poor choice if buying barbecue is the main reason for coming. An earlier arrival leaves time for choosing food, paying and collecting the order; a last-minute arrival offers little room for those steps. No food stock or queue time has been established.
Eating without a grill-table booking
At Seoul Barbecue Festival, the walk-in food route starts at Barbecue Village. Choose your food, pay at an on-site kiosk, collect it and pick up the utensils or other items you need. The Coca-Cola dining area is free to use, with seating available on a first-come basis.
Free admission gets you into the event, not into an assigned dining seat. This route suits visitors who are happy to buy a prepared meal and use shared dining space. A group that needs to sit together should look at the dining area before ordering, rather than treat an entry policy as a table allocation. If sitting down is essential, that check matters more than simply getting through the entrance.
For self-grilling, the organizer lists gas-grill tables at KRW 10,000 and charcoal-grill tables at KRW 20,000 per table, with meat and wrapping vegetables bought separately on site. Advance booking is recommended through the linked Naver Booking service; limited first-come on-site sales may close early, and current availability and foreign-user booking access have not been confirmed.
Picnic rentals, music and a place to pause
You can visit Seoul Barbecue Festival for more than a grill session. Stage performances and recreation are listed from noon to 8 p.m., and the stage programs are free. Viewing in the picnic area is first come, first served; performers and performance times may change.
The picnic area operates from noon to 8 p.m. Optional rental sets include a four-person mat, folding camping table and lantern. The listed cash payment is KRW 20,000: a KRW 5,000 use fee plus a KRW 15,000 refundable deposit. Sets are rented on site, first come, first served.
For a picnic rental at Seoul Barbecue Festival, you need the full KRW 20,000 at collection, even though only part is the use fee. The KRW 15,000 deposit comes back after equipment return and inspection; loss or damage can reduce the refund or lead to extra charges. Before leaving the rental area, check that you have all three items, and allow time to return the complete set before moving on. Leaving equipment behind is not the same as completing its return.
The Healing Zone has camping chairs, beanbags and coffee or dessert vendors, with listed hours of noon–8:30 p.m. Seoro Market sells regional produce and products from noon to 8 p.m. These give companions something to browse or a space to rest between food stops. Neither requires renting the picnic set just to include it in your visit.
A short approach from Digital Media City Station
The organizer recommends Digital Media City Station, Exit 2, followed by the festival shuttle. It estimates about 15 minutes from the station to the site, depending on traffic. Shuttle service is listed for October 24–25 at KRW 1,200 per ride, with preschool children riding free.
For Seoul Barbecue Festival, payment preparation depends on what you plan to use. Shuttle tickets are sold on site by card only; cash is not accepted. The picnic rental, by contrast, requires cash. Bringing only cash would leave the published shuttle ticket requirement unmet, while bringing only a card would rule out that rental. A card and cash serve different purposes here.
Food-kiosk payment options and acceptance of particular foreign or transit cards have not been confirmed. The shuttle's card-only label does not establish that your specific card will work, or that the food kiosks follow the same rule. Food purchases also need a separate budget from the published transport and equipment charges.
Before setting out
Outside food is allowed, but private tents and shade tents are prohibited. A picnic does not mean permission to set up your own shelter. Cooking is restricted to the designated Self BBQ Zone, so bringing ingredients is not a way to start cooking elsewhere on the grounds.
The festival is planned to go ahead in rain, although weather conditions may prompt a venue change announced through the event homepage and social channels. Last checked: October 18, 2026. Before leaving for Seoul Barbecue Festival, check the official FAQ and event homepage for admission, walk-in and weather updates.
