Hanseong Baekje Cultural Festival 2026: Free Shows

Choose daytime for activities and food, or an evening for a free opening or closing show at Hanseong Baekje Cultural Festival 2026. The festival takes place around Olympic Park’s 88 Lawn Square in Seoul on October 23–25, combining history and culture with performances, an activity village and a food market.

The program brings together Hanseong Baekje history and modern Songpa culture, with classical music, traditional Korean music and dance. It is a history-and-culture festival, rather than just a concert. Your main choice is whether to explore the activity areas or arrange your visit around a particular performance. This is the festival’s 26th edition, hosted by Songpa-gu and organized by the Hanseong Baekje Cultural Festival Promotion Committee.

Daytime: start with the activity village and market

A daytime visit suits travelers who want hands-on activities or a food stop without making a stage show the center of their day. The activity village and Hanseong Baekje festival market run during the event period. These are the places to look beyond the main stage: one for activities, the other for browsing food stalls.

For a family visit, the activity village is a sensible first destination: it puts hands-on participation at the center of the outing. If food is your main interest, begin at the market instead. A meal stop can be the purpose of a shorter visit, while a family planning to take part in activities will want time to explore the village.

The Korea Tourism Organization lists 10:00–21:00 as the overall event hours. That is a general planning window, not a shared timetable for every booth, activity or food stall. A daytime-only visit also means missing the opening and closing performances, both scheduled for the evening.

Hanseong Baekje performances: choose a date and start time

For a performance-led visit, choose the program first and fit the rest of the outing around its start. All times here are local time in Seoul.

  • Friday, October 23: opening performance at 19:00 (7 p.m.).
  • Saturday, October 24: community celebration at 16:50 (4:50 p.m.), including local community-center presentations and a celebratory performance.
  • Sunday, October 25: closing performance at 19:00 (7 p.m.).

Match the performance to the rest of your day

Friday and Sunday suit a visit focused on an evening opening or closing show. Saturday has a late-afternoon community program instead. If you want to see local community presentations, that distinction matters more than simply choosing whichever date has an evening free.

Keep the performance start separate from the festival’s overall hours when adding Hanseong Baekje to your itinerary. Arriving at 10:00 does not mean the opening performance begins then; arriving near 21:00 does not mean catching its start. Use the dated performance time for your journey planning.

Only the start times are available here, so leave the end of your outing flexible rather than scheduling a tightly timed commitment after the show. For an outing combining activities and a performance, check activity hours for your chosen date before deciding how early to arrive.

On a mixed visit, the performance is the fixed point and activities are the flexible part. If an activity has a queue or a set session, ask when it finishes before joining. You can then decide whether to take part now or leave it for another part of the visit.

What is free, and what needs a separate budget?

The main Hanseong Baekje performances are free: the opening and closing performances and the community celebration. Large-scale activity areas are also included in the free program. Some smaller hands-on activities carry a charge.

Keep food spending separate. Individual activity fees, current food prices and accepted payment methods are not available in the checked information. For a paid activity or food purchase, establish the price and how to pay before ordering or taking part.

Use Olympic Park Station, exits 3 or 4

Take subway Line 5 or Line 9 to Olympic Park Station. The organizer’s directions give an approximately five-minute walk from exits 3 and 4 toward Meeting Plaza. Treat that as the approach from the station, rather than a measured walk to your chosen activity or a particular place in front of the stage.

Check the station name first, then the exit number, then the destination within the festival area. The venue is the area around 88 Lawn Square, not a single indoor hall. Its English address is 424 Olympic-ro, Songpa-gu, Seoul.

At the festival, your next destination depends on the plan you chose: the activity village, the food market or the performance area. Reaching the park entrance is therefore one part of the journey, not the final step. Allow room in your plan to find the relevant area rather than aiming to reach the station at the performance’s start time.

Before leaving for the festival

The festival inquiry number is 02-2147-2800 within Korea, or +82-2-2147-2800 from abroad. If you need to ask about a particular program, have its date and start time ready so your question refers to the right event. For written updates, use the notices on Songpa’s official festival website.

Reservations, admission procedures, seating arrangements, weather-related changes and on-site English assistance remain unconfirmed. A free performance does not establish guaranteed entry or a seat. For a show-led visit, the admission notice is as relevant as the start time. Last checked: October 21, 2026.

Before setting off for Hanseong Baekje Cultural Festival, open Songpa’s official festival website and check the latest notices for your chosen date.
